Whirlwind...

Wow. Time is flying and I continue to count my blessings every day.
We had our family reuinion July 17-18 in Dunn TX. Right outside of Snyder TX. Gram's side of the family is so wonderful. I haven't seen some of them in at least 10 years and I was introduced to some. It was a joy to take Hudson and have him meet everyone. He had a blast and was center of attention the whole weekend. Cody was unable to make it because he was covering for someone on another shift. Mom Gram Hud and I headed out early Saturday morning and met up with everyone and had a great time catching up.

Sunday was a day to hit my knees and thank the good Lord for another day, my sweet precious family, another day that I was lucky enought to be alive!! I had received news that a friend of mine was involved in a horrible boat accident. I call her a friend even though we had only met once a few years ago but never have really had the chance to hang out. She was always so sweet and we had kept in touch through facebook and I occasionally saw her and her sweet family at church. She was very involved with our Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes. She said our prayer last year. We had a split second to chat about our babies while she was registering that morning. She had brought Madden and he was bundled up in his stroller ready to stroll with his family and find a cure for diabetes. I remember hearing her voice, as everyone bowed their head and she prayed over everyone. Praying that we one day find a cure. I saw her after the walk leaving with her sweet baby boy and she waved goodbye. I saw her a few times at church and we exchanged smiles, never knowing that one day God would call her up to Heaven so soon. I know the lake she was on very well. I know that part of it its very dangerous even during the day with all the rocks it's hard to steer clear of them. My heart aches for all of those involved. What a trajic accident. All four were injured and Karah left behind so many loved ones. Every day I think about her and her family that she left behind and how her husband has to raise their baby without his mother, how a father and mother lost a daughter, friends lost a great friendship, but then I realize that God had a greater plan for her and Heaven needed another angel. I continue to pray for her family and friends and her son, that he grow up and know how very speacial his mother was.
Prayers for the Northcutt's/Brooks. <><

Sweet Summer Time...

I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!! Even though the temps have been climbing and it's been a tad humid, I LOVE SUMMER. The long nights, cute summer outfits, MY SON'S FIRST BIRTHDAY, lakes and swimming pools!!! Hudson turns ONE on August 31st. I can't believe how fast time goes. Planning a birthday for a one year old is so much fun. Scratch that, a pirate theme birthday is so much fun!!
We have a mini summer session wth Mallory in a couple of weeks. So looking forward to that! Cody and I are also getting a mini vacation. We are headed to Lewisville mid July for Fire Fighter Olympics. He'll be playing golf and softball and I'll be laying by the pool and shopping. We get to see my dear friend Amber and meet her super sweet boy toy! Looking forward to it.

We had a 9 month well check for Hud on June 1st.
Weight: 22 1/2
Height: 29 3/4
Head: 18 1/4   he now has 10 teeth top four, bottom four and two bottom molars on both sides.

We've almost made the transition from formula to whole milk. He loves whole milk and I am not suprised, he loves everything we give him. He still takes formula every now & then to get all the vitamins. But thank goodness we are almost done, that stuff is smelly and $$$$ expensive.

Cody's first Father's Day was last weekend and we had the best weekend. He was actually off Saturday & Sunday so we ran around town and lounged all day Saturday. Sunday we made the trip to O'donnell to see all of his fam. Hudson and I bought him a new bow case =)

What an awesome, loving daddy Hudson has!

9 months old!

Our baby boy turned 9 months on Monday May 31st. It was also a holiday and a long weekend. I had Friday and Monday off & it was much needed. We took Hudson to the pedi at 9:30, we knew it was going to be an easy visit because there were no shots involved this time. THANK GOODNESS. Debbie Reese is an amazing pediatrician, she was mine until I turned 16. I insisted on going to her untill the very last moment that I could. And that day came when I was 16. She told me, "Ash, I love treating you but it's time you find a doctor and not a pedi!" haha
She has a very stern side and rarely smiles and cuts up. This appointment was totally different. She was grabbing Hud's legs and tickling them and telling him how cute he was. She told us everything looked great and he was progressing as he should...even ADVANCED! We knew that considering he is an early bird at everything. He's got 8 teeth and she noticed the top left molar was coming through. He's wearing anything from 12-24 month clothes, loves snowcones and bluberry muffins. Army crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. Loves to swing and play in his pool.

3 more months and he will be a year old!!!
Let the party planning begin.

We had a great lazy, yet productive Memorial Day. Thank you to all who have served and who are serving and protecting us and our freedom! MANY THANKS

Summa Summa Summa Time

My first Mother's Day

Wow. This month, this whole year has flown by. As the months go by I watch my son pull himself up on any stable object, I see him smile and show his 8 tiny teeth, I look into his eyes and wonder what is going on in that sweet little mind of his. When people say "Enjoy every minute" they aren't kidding! It has been such a blessing to be a Mother. I enjoyed my very first Mother's day and I couldn't have asked for more. God has blessed me with such an amazing mother, a great family and the greatest gift in the world..to be Hudson's mother.

Memorial weekend is next weekend and Cody has some time off. We were originally planning a PK lake trip but plans fell through so we have a few more options in the works. It's so nice to get out of town, especially with each other!! Hudson will be 9 months on the 31st. I'm already planning a 1 year Birthday Party!!

We visited daddy at the station on Sunday and took some sper cute pictures....

Chita kept Hudson for the weekend and took him to see her side of the family in O'donnell on Saturday. Hudson turned 8 months on Saturday!!!!

Husband & I

It was a fun weekend but I was anxious to get home to see my baby boy!
Hudson has started pulling up on things. With a little help he stands all by himself. He'll be walking in no time!! I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of walking shoes.
He had a pickle for the first time yesterday and loved it. He really didn't make a face because of the sourness he just wanted MORE.

5/3/2010

Our kitchen is almost complete!!! Cody has worked so hard. He has basically done all the work by himself with a little help from his dad, saving us big $$$$$ bucks.
I can finally start putting things in the cabinets and start getting things organized. We went grocery shopping Sunday and loaded up on EVERYTHING!! So excited to have everything done and invite people over. I'm thinking crawfish broil. =)

Looking forward to my very first "real" Mother's Day!

12 Reasons to LOVE being a Mom..

1. You receive a reception worthy of American Idol even though you'd only left the room for a minute to get wipes.

2. There is no better exercise than chasing a toddler through the mall- except maybe chasing two of them

3. When was the last time an adult hugged you simply for buying cookies?

4. You can't put videos of your husband on YouTube dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" but the baby, upload away!

5. Babies don't accidentally butt dial your cell phone and they never hog the remote.

6. Nothing's sexier than a man holding a baby- except for a man to be changing a diaper!

7. The 100th reading of Good Night Moon is every bit as good as the first.

8. You no longer look quite as silly dressing up for Halloween.

9. You've got a built in excuse for RSVP'ing "NO" whenever you feel like it.

10. Somebody loves you no matter what you are wearing (strained peas on your shirt) what you're doing (prepping yet another birthday party) or how long it's been since you've showered (Tuesday? Uh no, Monday)

11. NAPTIME

12. Alarm clocks are more appealing when they are wearing footie pajamas!

I found this in my monthly subscription of American Baby Magazine. (with a friend from highschool on the cover!) too cute

Being a mother is the greatest blessing I have ever received!
I Love you HRQ
