All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

Well Hudson got 'em! The second bottom tooth is trying to make an apperance. We noticed it the day before Christmas Eve. he had been super fussy the day before and we didn't know why. Well we got our answer. He's been doing okay with this one. No temp, just drooling all over the place, fussing and sticking everything in his mouth. He's been waking more often at night but it just means more time for mama to hold him. He had a great first Christmas. We were so busy!! Christmas Eve we celebrated with Cody's mom. Hudson got books, toys, clothes, you name it! Cody & I didn't do too shabby either..new bar stools, kurig coffee maker, massage gift card, new chi flat iron & blow dryer, food gift cards..we had a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas day we headed to O'Donnell to celebrate with Cody's family. Hudson was a trooper. He must have been passed around a million times. He did get a good hour nap in though, thank goodness. We then headed home to celebrate with my mom & gram <3
We were exhasted by the time we got home!!

*Christmas Eve 2009*

We are headed to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl to watch Texas Tech play. BLAH! Anywho, the River Walk will be a blast! We're heading out Friday and coming home Sunday. I'm excited to just get out of town.
Looking forward to 2010 with my growing baby boy and amazing husband. Hudson has his 4 month shots on Wednesday the 6th =(  Not looking forward to it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Jingle all the way

So Mia found this amazing little contraption at HEB that holds all kinds of foods and has a mesh like net at the end so babies can get solid foods out without any chunks. We blended up an apple and made some yummy applesauce and let Hudson try this for the first time. I'm sure it felt good on his gums and his tooth coming in, but the faces he made were priceless!! It took him a while to figure out how the thing worked. We tried bananas the next day, yea not so much a fan!

TUMMY TIME!
Hudson loves tummy time and is begining to get the hang of rolling over! This picture is the most precious thing! He was in mid convo holding his little hands ;-)

Holy Moly! If this picture doesn't make you smile, not sure what will! Cody was changing Hud last night and came around the corner with him with this santa hat on saying "Merry Christmas!" We had to get a picture in front of the tree. MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL

My baby will be 4 months on the 31st! The exact same day I found out I was pregnant one year ago. What an amazing New Year present I received

Christmas is in 3 days.....

We are getting some friends together tonight and having an ugly Christmas sweater, bladder buster party! Bladder busters is @ Crocs and I hear it's pretty intense and no one can use the bathroom for 3 hours. Which is no bueno for me considering my bladder is the size of a peanut! But I must say, I have a pretty bomb.com sweater. It can't beat Cody's (I'm suprised he is actually participating) but we'll see.
Pics coming soon
GOD BLESS

First tooth!

Holy tooth fairy!! Lil man has his first tooth poking through ALREADY! Mind you, he is just 3 1/2 months. I noticed he had been fussy for a few nights and the pedi suggested baby orajel. I've been rubbing a small amount every night before bed noticing his gums were rough but didn't notice a any teeth...until yesterday!! One little bottom tooth.

Holding his teether <3

This past weekend was such a blast. We had our Girl's Christmas Friday night and a dvd exchange. Then a few of us went out afterward. It's so great to catch up with great friends. We celebrated Laural's graduation. I'm so very proud of her!!!

Girl's Christmas 2009

This makes me laugh =)
He's just like mama. When I'm hot I kick one leg out of the covers. He must have kicked his way out to cool off

Thanks Melinda (my boss) for the cute onsie!

Fa lalalala

Looking forward to a busy fun filled weekend. Friday is our annual Girl's Christmas. My girlfriends and I have been getting together the past few years exchanging ornaments, gossiping, taking silly pictures, playing games, just enjoying each other's friendship. This year we are doing something a little different and exchanging our favorite dvd growing up. Mine of course, is The Little Mermaid but figured maybe not everyone had the same interest as I did. I did find a pretty good one though. It's got a great message and reminds me of my group of great girlfriends. This is our 3rd year to have t-shirts made. The first year we all had "Grey's Girls" shirts because of course, Grey's is what brought all of us together. The 2nd year was a quote by the Beatles "I get by with a little help from my friends" (couldn't be more true) This year it's zebra writing with a super cute quote!

Saturday is Miss Aubrey Kay's 1st birthday!! So crazy how time flies. I remember visiting JP in the hospital after Aubrey was born. She was so tiny. I'm almost positive by the time Hudson is one I will be that mom that is crying asking "where did the time go?!" We also have a BBQ to go to in Big Spring later in the evening.

I got the picture CD from Meg yesterday and ordered our Christmas pictures. Hopefully HEB will have them ready at lunch so I can send them out and people will get them before the New Year..ha.

Viva CALIFORNIA! Planning our Cali trip (hopefully) sometime in January....

It's begining to look alot like Christmas..

What do ya know?!? It actually snowed!! December 4, 2009. It was wonderful. Hudson & I woke up to a white snow covered yard. I had the day off and Cody had just gotten of shift. We bundled Hudson up and took him outside to snap some pictures before it melted.

He had no idea what was going on. I placed a small amount of snow in the palm of his hand and he gave me a "mom what the heck is this" look! Priceless

Is this not the cutest thing ever? This was right before we bundled him up to go play in the snow. He's posing by his very first Christmas tree in his reindeer jammies<3

I can't believe my boy is already 3 months. Where does the time go? He acts like a 5 month old. I have a feeling he's going to be a bruiser!! He's getting so strong, keeping his neck and head up for a good 15-20 min at a time.
* grabbing & holding on to everything
* talking and cooing all the time
*making the sweetest noises
*sleeping in his crib (almost always through the night)
* eating around 28 oz.
*constantly watching things/people in the room

I'm almost positive he is about to start teething. Nights have become a little hectic. He is putting his whole fist in his mouth and just sucks away as he's screaming his lungs out. I've bought him a few teething toys he adores! I ran my finger across his gums the other day and can feel some little teefies wanting to come through. So I guess Hud is going to be an early bloomer and pop out some teeth soon. I just wish it didn't hurt him so bad. As a mother, that is one of the most unbearable things when your child is in pain & you can't take it away =(

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

What a week! Thanksgiving was so much fun and oh so fulfilling. Literally!! Hudson & I visited Cody on shift. His mom had ordered the station turkey, dressing, ham, the works from HEB! One of Cody's buddies at the station has a 4 month old little girl, McKenzie, she is a doll. We introduced her to Hudson and they were so cute. They stared at each other for a good 10 min. I love showing him different babies. He seems to have so much going on in his mind when he meets new people. We watched a few movies then packed up and headed to Gram's for dinner. Nothing like a home cooked Thanksgiving. Don't get me wrong, the HEB food was delish but didn't come close to Gram's homemade mashed taters or mom's deviled eggs!! YUMM

Mr. Hudson Rhyder slept through the night Saturday!! I'm sure it was because we dragged him all over town to take pictures and he had very little sleep that day. He took a 6oz. bottle and fell asleep quickly around 9:45. He didn't wake up until 6:30 the next morning. And suprisingly fell asleep for another hour and a half after his bottle at 7:00!

We met up with an oh so dear high school friend Megan Dozier (now Singleton) to take some family pictures on Saturday. She's amazing!!! We went to locations that I never would have imagined. I can't wait to see what she does with them!!! Here's one that Cody's mom took from her camera...

Much more to come when Meg gets done editing!

Christmas decorations are up and I am ready to celebrate the holidays with my wonderful family.
I heard the very first Christmas song on the radio today and I sang my little heart out!

Giving Thanks...

Another great weekend!! Cody has been off for about 10 days. His birthday was Friday and we celebrated at H()()ters with fried pickles and great friends. Saturday we BBQ'ed and watched football. We had some amazing smoked chicken and ribs. Thanks Cody D!!

Sunday went to church ( Cody's first time at Stonegate) & what a great message Patrick gave! After service Cody went golfing with some buddies and I put up our Christmas tree. I love this time of year. Hudson has his very first tree this year. Although he only seems interested in it when the lights are on ;-)

Ready for a two day work week and Thanksgiving!
I am so very thankful for my family. My loving husband and my precious baby boy. Cousins, Aunts, Uncles & In-Laws! Knowing Jesus, My Savior. My mother, my best friend. Gram, my strength. My girlfriends, near & far. My father, my hero. My job, we will find a cure!! Having a roof over my head, food in my belly, and my health.

Burrrrr

It all happened yesterday!!! Hudson rolled from his tummy to his back and found his thumb! Gram had put him on his play mat, tummy down, walked in the kitchen and came back to find him on his back. (So we all missed it but it happened.) When I went to pick him up yesterday after work he was going to town on his thumb!! Mia got the cutest pictures. When we got home we practiced the whole rolling from tummy to back but it never happend =(

So glad Cody is finally home. He picked up two days of overtime at the station and he'll be off for the next 10 days. So thankful for that. His birthday is Friday so Hudson and I have to come up with something clever. He found a new bow so I am giving him money to buy it. Cody, Morgan, Phiffer and Murray all have birthdays in November so we are all going out to dinner on the 24th & Morgan rented the parlor room at the Hilton! Oh the memories of the parlor room. Daddio rented it for our wedding and I had it for my 25th birthday. GOOD TIMES!!

Cody & I have date night tonight. I cherish the time we have alone together. He is an amazing man and a wonderful father. We are going to attempt P90X tonight, (we'll see how that goes.) Hopefully putting up the Christmas tree this week also. I can't wait to see Hudson's reaction to all the decorations and lights. I want his first Thanksgiving & Christmas to be so wonderful!!! xoxo

Burrr! cold weather calls for Hippo hats!

What a weekend!!

Friday night was girls night. We had fajitas, wine and games at Emily's parents house in her dad's massive garage. He's a huge car buff and built an insane garage so it's a perfect place for a little get together. It's so great seeing all my friends and getting to catch up. It seems that no matter how long we all go without seeing each other, we always start we where ended!

Saturday was a fun filled day! Cody was on shift so Hudson and I cuddled on the couch for most of the morning. He is such a loving baby. I dropped him off at Gram's so I could run a few errands. I had Lacey's "suprise" housewarming party so I packed up lil man and went to that! Hudson was passed around like a hot potatoe! Everyone wanted a piece of him. He behaved so well, even in a house full of women. ;-)

Sunday picked up mom for church and met the girls. Another amazing service. This one truley spoke to my heart and made me realize God is not done with me, he has many plans and my heart is open to whatever they may be. I believe he is working in so many ways in my life right now. So powerful!!! Picked up Hudson from the nursery and he was on the play mat just kicking his feet smiling at the toys above him. The lady said he had been like that all morning, just as happy as can be! Makes my heart flutter. We had Gyna Mae's birthday party to go to at the jumper place. Oh my, so many children. I guess that's we have to look faward to! After that, Hudson & I headed to Big Spring to see daddy at the fire station and eat some pizza. Cody picked up over time and we were long overdue for a visit to see him. Benji, another firefighter has a son 8 days younger than Hudson so his wife Kendra brough Lucas up to the station! We put them both on the recliner in front of the tv just like Cody & Benji do when they are on shift. They both look exactly like their daddy's! Too cute.

Revolution

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY! Bless all those that serve & have served our wonderful country. God bless America!

I've been listening to Miranda Lambert's new cd, Revolution all morning. She is probably my all time favorite country artist. I've seen her in concert once when she opened for Kenny Chesney & that just made me love her even more. The lyrics on this album are so powerful!!! Just one of those cd's that puts you in a great mood ya know?

This is one of my favorite songs: LOVE SONG

"I was standing there cryin’ in the kitchen

It’s been one of those mornings that’s gonna last all day
And he comes in, wraps his arms around me
And I don’t even have to say a thing

That’s what makes it love
That’s what makes it a love song"

Hudson only woke up once last night!! Put him to bed around 10:00. He didn't wake up untill 3:00. Such a sweet boy. I love him more & more each day.
Cody watched him yesterday after I got off work. It was my first time back in the gym in almost 11 months & it felt so great to work out. Emily, Ash & I did Zumba...oh how I've missed that class!! I came home to a wonderful home cooked meal. Cody made chicken parmesan..YUM!! A wonderful night to spend with my boys.

Weekend Update

Update on Hudson :

As of 11/6/09

Weighs 14.2 lbs (75%)
Height  23 1/2 (80%)
Head 16''4 (80%)

Dr. Reese suggested we start him on cereal and try for 8 oz at every feeding! Growing baby boy.
He didn't cry until the very last shot and didn't run a fever afterward. We attempted 8 oz last night but he fell asleep after 4 oz but slept for a good 4 1/2 hrs at a time. He has a habit of always scratching his face. We can't ever keep his fingers away from his face and he's so rough. Poor baby has scratches all over the place. Operation Mittens is in full force!!!

Cody, Murray, Casey & I all headed to Brownwood for the weekend to Murray's ranch house. AMAZING! His parents are always so welcoming. (Cody & I got engaged at their lake house in Brownwood in '06) The ranch house is beautiful. It was so good to get away in the middle of nowhere. Although we were roughing it by NO means. Casey and I sat in the deer blind a few yards away from the tree stand Cody was in. We must have seen about 13 doe walk in but Cody didn't have a clear shot on any of them. We had the most delicious meals, I swear I gained about 15 lbs while I was there. It's always great to get away but my reward is coming home and seeing my smiley handsome baby boy!!!

Ick..

Food poisoning is dreadful. ICK. Monday night I started feeling pretty queezy and yucky. I finally called mom over around 8:30 to come watch Hudson, while I, um..prayed to the porcelain gods =(
Cody was on shift in Big Spring and asked if I needed him to come home. I toughed it out for as long as I could then called and asked him to come home! He showed up around midnight, hooked me up to an iv and gave me some nausea medicine. THANK GOODNESS FOR HAVING AN EMT/MEDIC HUBBY!!
I slept pretty much all day Tuesday and started to feel a little better. Back at work today still feeling a little under the weather but not near as bad as Monday night.

                                                                 Here's my lil Aggie!

Hudson has his two month shots Friday & mommy is nervous! Cody & I are also leaving for Brownwood Friday to go to a friends ranch to hunt.

Halloween Weekend

What a weekend. It started Friday at Murray's house with his costume party. (You can check out the pictures on my facebook) Funny stuff. There were some great costumes!! Cody & I dressed as Swine Flu and Dr. Swine (the vaccine) Mia watched Hudson for us Friday night. (Thank goodness for wonderful baby sitters)

Saturday we picked up lil munchkin and just hung out and watched football. We had dinner at Outback and went to the drive in movie. Law Abiding Citizen, WOW. Great movie, but WOW! Hudson was so good through the whole thing. You never would have guessed we had a baby in the car. He turned 2 months on Halloween. It's crazy how time flies. He's begining to grow thicker eye lashes & eye brows, he focuses better on objects and he's becoming more verbal! It's the sweetest thing. Sunday Cody picked up some overtime atthe station and Hudson and I met Mia at church. This was his second Sunday in the "six flags over Jesus" as Patrick would say. Also known as Wee Gems. He did so great! We lounged the rest of the afternoon and decided to go to the evening service to watch baptism. AMAZING. I teared up through the whole thing. It's so powerful when people young and old accept Christ as their Savior!!!!

"Who is Jesus Christ? Many people will acknowledge Jesus Christ as a good man, a great teacher, or even a prophet of God. These things are definitely true of Jesus, but they do not fully define who He truly is. The Bible tells us that Jesus is God in the flesh, God in human form (see John 1:1, 14). God came to earth to teach us, heal us, correct us, forgive us—and die for us! Jesus Christ is God, the Creator, the sovereign Lord."

Here's a picture of lil man in his swing that I sent to Cody while he was at the station Sunday.

Pink Ribbon Tour

The Pink Ribbon Tour made it's way through Big Spring. BSFD sported the PINK t-shirts for this amazing cause. Here are some pictures. If you get a chance please look at their website. It has a very unique story behind it all.

Welp, today was my first day back and work and I have to say I really enjoyed it. No, seriously! I dropped Hudson off this morning and got to work at 9:00. (And I have to admit it was pretty easy and I didn't shed a single tear. Because on my lunch hour I snuck a little visit in to see his precious face.) Ah, the joys of him staying with family. =)

We've got a few schools having their School Walk in November. November is Diabetes Awareness month F.Y.I.

I'm excited to meet the new nurses & P.E. coaches that are participating this year. We also have an even with Gold's Gym. November 7th they are hosting a SPIN-A-THON. You can reserve a bike for $50 and all the proceeds go to The ADA. Also, during the month of November, Chili's is donating a portion of sales to the ADA if you present a coupon. (ask me about the coupon, we have plenty!)

Looking forward to Murray's Halloween party Friday night! Cody and I have a super fun costume!!!!

6 straight hours of sleep last night

Hudson slept for 6 hours straight last night! We woke up around 4:45am for a bottle, back in bed by 5:15 and up around 8:15! We had our morning chat while he was in his swing and he smiled and coo'd like he had so much to tell me. It's amazing how much he is growing and developing his own personality. I go back to work tomorrow and am actually pretty excited. I'm ready to get back on an actual schedule. We are so blessed that Gram will be keeping him instead of putting him in a daycare right away. She was at Kelview Heights Preschool & Daycare for 20 years and decided to retire and keep Hudson for us! God is doing some amazing things in our life these days.

Cody and I just returned from a much needed husband & wife trip to San Antonio. We left Thursday morning and enjoyed the Riverwalk, great food, shopping, Fright Fest at Fiesta Texas, crazy roller coasters & best of all two nights of well rested sleep! Cody's mom (Chita) kept Hudson at our house and we were so thankful for that.

So I decided to give in and start a blog. Mainly for myself to keep track of such a busy life with a new baby and for family who don't get to see Hudson very often. Hudson is 8 weeks 1 day today but seems like he's going on 15! These last 8 weeks have been nothing shy of amazing. I've had the opportunity to spend every second with the most handsome baby in the world. He's already developed his own personality. He talks and coos and it melts my heart every time. Our last doctors visit was last week and he weighs 12lbs 8oz!! He's already grown out of newborn clothes and diapers. He's now in a 1-2 diaper and can fit in 3-6month clothing. This picture is one of my favorites, Hudson was two days old and a spitting image of Cody. As the days pass, he's beginning to look more like mama!
