Spring Fever

Boy oh boy. I'll be glad when our kitchen is DONE! It is nice sitting with Cody eating take out on our living room floor ;-) We talk about our day and catch up a little. He has been working so very hard on our house and a friend of the family's house. So he is beyond exhasted at night. I hate when he is home for two nights and I get so used to him being there and he's gone the next morning. But I cherish the time we do get to spend together! He's been such a big help with Hudson too. I took a spin class the other day at my old gym and had Cody pick Hud up from Gram's. The class was amazing and it made me realize how much a hard core workout spinning for 45 min was. I came home to a giggling baby on a pallet playing with daddy. Hudson is almost crawling. He's moving around like a fish out of water, just cant get the concept of moving hands and legs at different times. He has pictures this weekend with Mal. I will be out of town but I can't wait to see them.

I am flying to Houston and road tripping to Austin with Jewels. She is working SXSW and we get to see Becca and Nikki. Kenz will be there Saturday and we have a little suprise in store for a certain someone ;-)
Can't wait to see all my girls. It's been long overdue.

Hudson is saying "mama" "dada" it's the sweetest thing. Sometime it's very clear and sometime is kinda jumbly. But it melts our heart. We can't wait to take him to the lake over Easter. I bought the cutest swim outfit. We have a busy few months ahead of us. GOD IS GOOD <><

                                                       ST. PATRICK'S DAY 2010

It cleared up a bit yesterday and we played outside while daddy textured the kitchen ceiling.

March Maddness

Well March sure is "coming in like a lion!" We have completely gutted our kitchen due to a slab leak behind the sink. Not only was the leak in the kitchen, it made it's way into the laundry room. Cody and I had been talking about re-doing the kitchen anyway because it was very outdated and just didn't mesh well with the rest of the house. Of course, we didn't plan on "re-doing" it so soon and we were going to have to take one step at a time!! An insurance agent is coming out Friday to look at the damage and hopefully be kind and give us what we need to replace everything!! Cody and I went to look at granite yesterday for counter tops. WOW. That stuff is pretty crafty and very expensive. Luckily Cody and his dad have been in the home re-modeling business for a while and we have "hook ups" =)

Our lovely kitchen

some of the granite we like

Such amazing weather we've been having lately! Minus the WIND! When the weather is nice Gram takes Hud on strolls around the neighborhood, he loves looking at everything!!!

Strolling with Gram

Silly boy! In Mia's sunglasses

sitting in a big boy high chair..trying to eat my phone!

Hudson has been so entertaining lately. Talking and giggling up a storm. Blowing bubbles and spitting. He is so sweet. He will probably be crawling soon. He gets on all fours and army crawls and scoots all over the place. He hasn't mastered the concept yet but soon enough I'm sure. He's already 6 months and 2 weeks. Where does time go? He has picture with Mallory on the 20th. I'll be in Houston but Mia is taking him and I am so looking forward to what she has in store. She's been taking his pictures since he was in my belly ;-)
I leave for Houston on the 18th to see Jewels and go to the Houston Rodeo for Eli Young Band. So stoked. I haven't been to Houston or seen some of my girls that live there in so long.

I'm staying pretty busy with work this month as well. We have 3 school walks this month and Diabetes Alert day is the 23rd. I love my job more and more everyday. I really feel like I'm playing a part to find a cure and get the message out there that diabetes is a serious disease. If you know anyone who has diabetes, Type 1 or Type 2, please refer them to us. You can call my office at 570.1232 or email me at aquintana@diabetes.org.

6 months old!

Holy COW! Where does time go? My little HRQ is already 6 months old today. I remember the day we went in to be induced like it was yesterday. 8 lbs 2 oz and a head full of hair. My heart literally exploded for this little bundle of joy. He seems to have kicked the RSV bug. He still has a cough but he is back to his happy smiley self. That has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world, when your baby is sick and you can't do anything to ease the pain.

Feeling so much better

This was the sweetest thing. Hud has a book that has a mirror inside. he found his reflection and bent down three or four times like he was kissing himself. He would look and me with a huge grin and look back at the mirror

The Jeep/Walker Chita got him. He's all over the kitchen. It has spinning toys on the front. Cody and I watched him for about 10 min Sunday morning spinning them, waiting for them to stop and spinning them again. He's so smart. This is bar far his favorite toy..as of now.

Daddy's hat. Lounging around Sunday afternoon.

Cody and I ran a few errands on Sunday while Mia and Gram got to spend some time with Hud. We bought a really nice kitchen table and a wine rack at Furniture Row. Only problem is, we have to wait about 4 weeks for it to come in :-(
We also got into a minor fender bender. Thank goodness I wasn't driving (or I'd never hear the end of it) but we were in my car. Minor damage to the left front fender. The insurance adjuster came to the house this afternoon so hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Girls Night is this Friday at my house. Erin is hosting but won't be able to make it. But I am so looking forward to it. It's St. Patrick's Day theme!!!

We go Wednesday for 6 month shots/ well check! Wish us luck.

At 6 months Hudson is:
*still sleeping around 12 hours
*holding his own bottle
*making all kinds of squeals and cooing noises
*grabbing and holding on to everything
*turning over from back to tummy, tummy to back
*sitting up
*army crawling and scooting
*smiling and giggling
*loving the remote or anything electronic
*wearing anything from 6,9, & 12 months, even 2T on some things
*loving his solid foods, I haven't found anything he doesn't like

Oh me Oh my!

What a week it has been ALREADY and it's just Wednesday! This past weekend Hudson and I had a play date with Macie & Parker, mommies Megan & Jodi. Hud was a little fussy. One I had to wake him from a nap right before so we wouldn't be late, two, it was early signs of him getting the dreaded RSV virus =(
He had a small cough right when we got back from California. Cody & I both figured it was just him adjusting to the different weather. He never ran a temp and never acted like he felt bad. Come Monday, Gram called and said he would NOT nap and wasn't hungry. That is not at all like my child. He loves sleep and LOVES to eat. I called Dr. Reese and made an appointment. When I got to Gram's he looked so exhasted and so so very sick. All he wanted to do was fall asleep on my shoulder. When we got to the pedi's office, she checked his ears and said they were pretty red, checked his throat, and did the most unbearable (but nessacary) thing ever...stuck a small stick like thing up his nose and made him scream like crazy!! She then took the stick like thing and tested it for RSV. Here I was crying because my baby is in pain thinking there was no way he had RSV. Only babies in daycare get RSV right??! NO. She said the results were very faint but he indeed had it. Luckily we caught it early and didn't have to go to the hospital like so many poor little babies. Rushed to HEB to fill his perscritption and took him home to give him some serious TLC<3

We were in for a very long night! My mom came over for a while and stayed with us. Cody was on shift and was very worried. I knew I couldn't handle this all by myself so he said he was headed home. Thank goodness. We did the whole shift change thing. He slept that night while I was up with Hudson ALL night. He slept maybe a total of 2 hours in 15 min. interavals and just felt horrible. UGH. I just wanted to take it all away and make him feel better. Cody took over the morning shift and I got a few hours of sleep in. Enough to function any way. I could definetly tell he felt better that day. He actually took a 2 1/2 nap, ate more, laughed and played & his fever broke!! Today he seems so much better. Now only if I could get the coughing and wheezing to go away. Not to mention the snow day we got yesterday!!! Snowed 4-5 inches in some places and work was closed!!! Our weather is so crazy.

Sick lil bebe =(

Laughter is the best medicine! Feeling better

Home Sweet Home

What an amazing trip we had! Hudson did so well on the plane ride to Houston and then to California. I at least thought he would sleep the majority of the 3 hour flight to LAX, but NO. He finally passed out about 15 minutes before we landed. We ended up at LAX at 9:00pm (11:00) Texas time. 4 hours, mind you, after his normal bed time. We then had a 45 min drive to Palmdale. He slept maybe 20 min of that. Got him to Dad's and put him in his jammies and he fell fast asleep. Slept through the night only waking at 5:00am (7:00) Texas time. I gave him a bottle, back in bed with us and he was out for another 2 hours!! We then packed a car load for our 3 hour ride to Mammoth. What amazing scenery. We passed trough the Sierra Nevada's

the Mohave Dessert

and stayed at an amazing cabin

The mountain was so unbelievably beautiful the day we skiied/snowboarded

Hudson loved the snow. We took a few pictures outside the cabin on our last day there and everytime he got close to it, he stuck his hand out and pulled it back super fast because it was so cold.

Flying with an infant scared me to death. I didn't want to be one of those parents whos kid was screaming bloody murder. I was afraid his ears would hurt and he'd throw a fit but he was an angel!!! The altitude didn't seem to mess with his ears one bit. I'm so glad Cody was there to help, I couldn't have done it without him. We traveled with a few babies on the plane back home from LAX to Houston. A 4 day old little girl. She slept the whole way but goodness, that couldn't have been a good idea.

My lil traveling man. First plane ride @ 5 months. Following in Mama's footsteps. (I flew to Canada when I was just 3 months)

This was also Hud's first Valentine's Day. He spent the whole day on a plane but had the biggest grin..

melts my heart<3

T-Minus 2 days!

VIVA CALIFORNIA! We are so excited to be leaving on a jet plane to California. But I haven't even started to pack. Hopefully I can get that knocked out tonight. I had all weekend but put it off.
Friday, met up with the girls and had a quick dinner at Rosa's then headed to see Dear John. Crazy how different the movie was from the book. The movie was good, don't get me wrong, but it was really different from the book and  I have to say the book was alot better! (Usually it is isn't it?) Saturday just hung out and ran some errands. Sunday, Cody was off shift and started his vacation!!! We went to church ran around town and I got my Valentine's present early!!! Open heart earrings to match my necklace Cody got me for Mother's Day!!!

My earrings

Hudson is 23 weeks and growing like a weed! He's so precious. Smiles all around. he's still sleeping through the night, usually a good 12 hours!! Holding his own bottle (when he wants to) rolling over and he just started this squealing thing. It's cute now but I'm sure it'll get old ;-)
He plays in his crib and let's us know he's awake by making a high pitch squeal. He makes the funniest facial expressions. I have a few videos I am wanting to upload but can't find out where the icon is??? HELP!
He watched some of the SuperBowl with us last night and cheered on the Saints.

Playing with daddy's phone.

Does any one else's baby have an obsession with the t.v. remote?? Everytime he sees it, he goes crazy and reaches for it. If you try to hide it, he follows it and makes a face if he can't see it. Silly boy<3

Last I heard my dad was snowed in in D.C. He travels alot for business and with the crazy weather D.C. has had, the airports are shut down due to weather! So hopefully it clears up so he can fly to L.A!!
Keep us in your prayers as we travel tomorrow. (Hope Hudson does ok on the plane)

=)

California Dreamin

I sent off our massive box yesterday to my dad. $57 later....I figured we would have been better off packing & paying for extra luggage. Well, not really. It was a large box packed with everything that we would need though. A carseat base, all of our ski/snowboard gear, extra blankets for Hud, diapers, wipes, you name it, it was jammed into that box! Traveling with an infant is going to be interesting. Lord be with us. I'm just so nervous about the time change. Cali is two hours behind Texas and Hudson is on a pretty strict schedule. I just hope he does well on the plane & adjusts to the time. We are there for 5 days!!! I'm so excited to go back to Mammoth!!! They have the best mountains and snow in the WORLD! (Well I've only been to Ruidoso, so that's not saying much) But it's beautiful. I went Spring Break in '07 with my dad. We had the most amazing cabin. We ate at delishious resteraunts and I snowboarded my booty off.

Dad & I. Mammoth '07

Can't wait for Hudson & Cody to see the amazing scenery.
CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME!!
